Dear Greens,
Norway exports farmed salmon that is harmful to animals and environment. The Norwegian Green Party appeals: Buy neither Norway’s dirty salmon nor dirty lies.
Yesterday, the independent NGO Green Warriors of Norway launched an international campaign against salmon farming. The Norwegian Green Party supports the initiative to stop the salmon farming industry from destroying our fjords and rivers, and we appeal to green parties worldwide to spread the information that farmed salmon is not sustainable food.
The Norwegian salmon farming industry threatens the environment by extensive pollution. Ecosystems in the fjords are about to collapse under the pressure from salmon farming. All the waste goes directly into the fjords from open net cages, and the feed consists of wild fish, of which more than half could have been eaten of humans.
The Norwegian salmon farming industry threatens animal welfare. Too many salmons in the cages, diseases and sea lice are just a few problems, as well as escaping farmed salmons are about to eradicate the wild salmon.
The use of chemicals like diflubenzuron and teflubenzuron does harm wildlife and environment, and might cause risk to human health.
The Norwegian Green Party urges the world to seek true information about the partly Norwegian Government owned salmon farming industry practice in Norway and abroad.
The Norwegian Green Party supports fish farming only in closed containment and with more restrictions on feed.
Please spread the word and help us save our fjords and rivers!

Endelig…and it’s about time. It’s not just those organic contaminants, the regular old PCBs are loaded in farmed salmon and feed, and they are recycled so the levels are constant and increasing.

Har akkurat meldt meg inn i partiet. Den største grunnen er partiets standpunkt i oppdrettssaken, og at de tør å gjøre noe. Deler også partiets syn på natur og dyrevern.
Veldig fint å vere medlem av eit parti som kallar spaden for nettopp det den er. Fint at du står så tydeleg på for natur og dyrs rettar Sondre!
